OLDHAM schools will be hit by national industrial action by two unions later this month.
Members of the two biggest teachers’ unions are taking a coordinated stance over pay, pensions, workload, conditions of service and job losses.
NASUWT members have been taking industrial action short of a strike since the start of December. They will be joined by the NUT from September 26.
The NUT has also voted in favour of walkouts.
Oldham branch secretary Tony Harrison stressed: “In the first instance we will be taking action short of strike action.
“The impact on pupils and parents will be minimal..
“The morale of teachers is dangerously low. People are being held to account for every move that they make.
TWO of the UK’s biggest trade unions, Union and GMB, are planning for co-ordinated strikes unless the Government suspends its pay freeze.
