Gas tank fire drama
Date published: 14 September 2012
A ROAD was closed for four hours yesterday after an acetylene cylinder caught fire.
Firefighters from Chadderton and a specialist unit were called to Pullman Fleet Services at Broadway Business Park, Chadderton.
A valve on the cylinder leaked and the gas ignited.
Broadgate was closed from the junction of the M60 slip road and a 100-metre cordon imposed.
Crews sprayed water on the cylinder to cool it.
