Cuddlers embrace group-hug challenge
Date published: 14 September 2012
A GROUP of colleagues will grab a tight hold on a world record when they attempt the longest ever group hug.
A seven-strong team of kind-hearted cuddlers from the Forever Friends greetings card brand will be getting up close and personal for around 25 hours on Thursday to raise money for for pregnancy research charity, Tommy’s.
Led by Oldhamer Jacquie Costello (41), the workmates will be observed by a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Jacquie said: “We’re a close-knit team, which is probably just as well Tommy’s is an incredibly worthwhile cause and we’re delighted to be supporting them.”
Ahead of the attempt, which takes place in Leeds, the team has already attracted the attention of several of the charity’s celebrity ambassadors such as Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye and TV presenter Gaby Roslin.
