Trio dig in to get things moving on worn roads
Date published: 25 September 2012
MAJOR repair work to some of Saddleworth’s most weathered roads has been given the go ahead — thanks to three local councillors.
Councillors Garth Harkness, Derek Heffernan and Alan Roughley mounted a crusade to pursue highways officers to authorise repair work.
Cote Lane, Dirty Lane and Bleak Hey Nook Lane will have drainage cleared and major repair works undertaken, and pavements on Garside Street, Delph, will also be repaired.
Stoneswood estate in Delph is recommended for a major overhaul as soon as possible.”
