Police rave alert
Date published: 11 October 2012
POLICE are warning teenagers not to visit an illegal rave planned to take place in Shaw this Saturday.
More than 200 people are expected to attend the birthday bash, details of which were posted on Facebook.
Local policeman Adam Murphy is now visiting schools, warning pupils they will be dispersed and possibly arrested if they show up at the event.
He said: “We don’t want people to go there because the site is dangerous. There’s a waterfall and it’s near the reservoir. Oldham Council which maintains the land, has not given permission for this rave to take place.”
