A HARDWARE store in Shaw has been caught storing up to 100kg of fireworks incorrectly.
Police seized a large number of fireworks from Major Value in Market Street last week as inspections begin in the run up to November 5.
Joint firework inspections are being carried out by Trading Standards, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) as part of Operation Treacle.
The operation is aimed at reducing incidents and injuries over the bonfire night period.
Anyone storing fireworks must hold a licence or registration and store them safely.
