Police, camera, action

FOUR million people are following Greater Manchester Police through video and picture sharing websites.
More than three million have visited GMP’s picture sharing site on Flickr. The site was launched in 2009 and showcases many sections of the force, captured by police photographers.
GMP’s YouTube site has had more than a million views — almost as many as the New York Police Department.
Deputy Chief Cons Ian Hopkins said: “They say that a picture is worth a thousand words which is why we have been developing how we share images of policing. Having so many people watching GMP on all its sites, especially the three million views on Flickr, is a real milestone — but this is work that continues.”
