DEMOLITION job: the former Afro Caribbean Project in Clegg Street
Partial demolition of the former Afro Caribbean Project premises in Clegg Street left the building in a dangerous state.
Council contractors were called in to carry out emergency work to reduce the danger.
Neighbouring Oldham Foodbank, which provides emergency food supplies, closed for the day and Ashcroft Street was also closed while the work took place.
A council spokesman said: “The council was made aware of the partial demolition and closer inspection indicated an exposed section posed a potential risk.”
