Kenneth Kennedy: body found
THE body of missing grandad Kenneth Kennedy has been found in Greenfield.
The six-day search for the 60 year old began after his family reported him missing a week ago when he failed to arrive for a family meal.
Police were called to an area near Holmfirth Road, on Saturday following reports a body had been found at around 11.30am. The body was later identified as that of Mr Kennedy.
The welder, from Chadderton, was a keen runner and it is believed he was on one of his frequent morning runs in Greenfield when he went missing.
Police launched a large-scale search with mountain rescue teams and tactical aid units.
It is believed Mr Kennedy had taken his own life. The case has been passed on to the coroner.
