AN Oldham takeaway was covered in mouse droppings, a court heard yesterday.
Kebab Hut, which operated on Tommyfield Market, was visited by environmental health officers last December, who found a dead mouse underneath the hot counter, mouse droppings on worktops, shelving, behind equipment and on the floor, food waste and debris on worktops and shelving.
The basin for hand washing was filled with chemical cleaning products and yoghurt.
Owner Javed Akhtar (50), of Cambridge Street, Werneth, was a fined £950 and ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work.
The business closed down soon after the inspection.
