THE council has asked the diocese to investigate after St Hilda’s Primary School closed early and teachers went to a wedding.
A letter had been sent to parents advising them that school would be finishing early for training.
As revealed in Tuesday’s Chronicle and subsequently reported in several national newspapers, dad Kamal Hussain became suspicious when there were no cars in the car park. He later found staff at a wedding.
“It is quite clear that these are matters for the chair of governors ,” said Councillor Hugh McDonald.
