A GROUP of young professionals from the Philippines are enjoying a whistlestop tour of Oldham.
The group, which includes a TV presenter, a lawyer, a dentist and a policeman, are on the Group Study Exchange programme organised by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
The programme provides a unique opportunity for young businessmen and women between the ages of 25 and 40 in the initial years of their professional life.
The group have spent three weeks in the UK, visiting different areas before arriving in Oldham and staying with host families from within the Rotary organisation.
It is hoped that the visit will broaden the visitors’ cultural perspective, give them a greater understanding of UK history, boost their self confidence and improve their professional skills.
During their time in Oldham, the group, led by Philippine Pastor Marr Reyes, visited the Oldham Chronicle offices for a tour of the company.
They also enjoyed an afternoon in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Civic Centre where they were given a guided tour of the council’s silverware.
