A NURSE has been left fearing for her life after eight attacks on her home in as many months.
Nasra Hampshire (58), of Overdale Close, Coldhurst, has suffered a campaign of terror since earlier this year, when her home and car were attacked in what she thought was a “harmless prank”.
But since then she has had her car windows smashed, all four tyres slashed and bricks thrown through the windows of her home.
The most recent attack took place on Sunday, November 4, when someone threw a brick at the patio doors at the back of her property.
The previous two incidents, on October 9 and October 24, saw bricks thrown through windows at the front of her home.
One landed only inches from where Nasra had been sitting, while another sent shards of glass flying across the room where her young grandson sleeps.
The attacks have left mum-of-two Nasra terrified of what will happen next.
She said: “I’m living in fear, I really am. The first time it happened it was just eggs thrown at my window and I thought it was a harmless prank.
“But since then it has been bricks through my car window and twice through windows at the front of my house.
“I’m scared that they’re going to attack me next. I’m terrified that it will be me or my family who are hurt.”
The incidents began at the end of March within days of her being asked to give evidence in court for work.
Since then she has been forced to pay around £1,000 for repairs, as well as having to claim on her car insurance.
Since Nasra first reported the incidents, police have installed CCTV cameras outside her home and Nasra has been given a panic button.
Insp Alan Humphries said: “Police in Oldham are investigating two reports where windows have been smashed at an address in Overdale Close in the last three weeks and we are aware of other incidents of criminal damage that have happened previously at this address.”
