FUN for all the family is on offer in Oldham town centre on Sunday for the big Christmas lights switch on.
TV star Rastamouse will be joined by Olympic bronze medallist Nicola White for an action-packed afternoon topped off with a fantastic firework finale.
Christmas characters will present a seasonal show on the stage near Oldham Parish Church from 4.45pm and there will be a prize draw for tickets to see the pantomime “Cinderella” at the Coliseum. The fireworks start at 5.30pm.
In the afternoon, children can look out for Rastamouse going for a walk-about in the town centre.
Christmas characters will also be around from 12.45pm handing out free hats, balloons and sweets to children.
After the switch-on, the Christmas lights will be illuminated daily from 3pm and the town centre’s nativity scene can also be found in Albion Street.
On Sunday, there’s free parking all-day in Hobson Street Car Park. There’s also free parking for four hours in the Spindles and Town Square car parks. All three car parks will stay open until 7pm.
Information about all of the town centre Christmas events can be found at www.visitoldham.com.
