PUPILS took a step back in time as they celebrated their school’s Golden Jubilee.
St Hilda’s CE Primary School opened in September, 1962, so students and teachers have spent the week looking at old photos of the building, researching the history of the school and sharing memories with former members of staff.
The school now boasts an exhibition spanning 50 years of past times, which is open to the public. A time capsule was created and encased in the school wall, marked by a commemorative mosaic plaque designed by the school council.
If you have any memories of St Hilda’s, visit the school’s Facebook site to leave a note or look through old newspaper cuttings or photos.
