Bruises on the face of the attacked man
A BATTERED victim of an unprovoked assault shows his brutal injuries in a bid to catch his attacker.
The 63-year-old was punched in the face only yards from his home after going out for a drink in Royton town centre.
The force of the blow made the man, who does not want to be named, spin around, hit a near-by wall and collapse to the ground.
It happened at about 11pm last Wednesday, in Shaw Road, Oldham, and police are now searching for the hooded offender who was about 5ft 10in tall.
PC Craig Hannelly said: “There is every chance that the victim actually blacked out once he was on the ground, and could have been out cold for some time. If there was anyone who may have witnessed this completely random attack, or may have seen suspicious behaviour that would help our inquiry, we would ask that they get in touch.”
