YOUNGSTERS helped get into the Christmas spirit with a festive fund-raiser.
Renowned Oldham-born tenor Martin Toal joined pupils from St Joseph’s RC Primary for a carol concert at Oldham Parish Church.
The event was in aid of Dr Kershaw’s and singers from the Royton hospice — Kershaw’s Crooners — made their debut appearance.

Martin, who has performed all over the world, also helped youngsters from St Joseph’s and Alt Primary to produce a special Christmas CD which was launched at last night’s show. Sales of the CD will raise vital funds for the hospice.
Lisa Pearson, appeals manager at the hospice, said: “It was absolutely fantastic. Over 300 people came and they were all made up with it.
“They were all clapping and cheering and The Kershaw’s Crooners were amazing!
“We raised £600 on the raffle and we know we’ve made £1,000 on the night and that’s before we’ve included ticket sales so we’d like to give everybody involved a massive thank-you.”
