Two on murder charge in court

TWO people accused of the murder of 48-year-old Peter Watt have appeared at crown court.
Bernadette Watt (24), of Vincent Avenue, Sholver, and John Connolly (39), of Wells Road, Sholver, appeared on Friday, when a hearing to enter pleas was set for February 1 next year, ahead of a further court date on April 10.
Mr Watt was found by police at a house in Coleridge Road, Sholver, in the early hours of last Monday morning.
He had suffered chest injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Paying tribute, a close family member said: “Peter was a gentle and caring man and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.”
Two men, aged 32 and 35, have also been questioned but were released on police bail until Thursday, December 6.
