A team from Hulme Grammar School, Oldham, is planning a mission to help the developing world.
Next summer Charlotte Robinson (17), 19 other students and three teachers will travel to Ghana as part of the school’s connection with the World Challenge programme. During the three-week trip to the west African nation, they will visit pupils at Hulme’s twinned school, Kwahu-Tafo.
The students will teach English, create a mural and help to build walkways and improve classroom facilities, as well as trekking and immersing themselves in local culture.
Each member must raise £3,000 to pay for their flights, food and accommodation.
