Double trouble for taxi driver
Date published: 07 December 2012
TAXI driver Jonathan Cuggy was caught smoking in his cab — and prosecuted for that and for littering when he threw the butt out of the car window.
IN July two environmental enforcement officers saw Cuggy (45), of Browning Road, Watersheddings smoking in his parked car and issued a fixed-penalty notice for £50.
While Cuggy’s details were being recorded he threw the cigarette into the road - and got a ticket for another £80 for littering!
When he didn’t pay either fine, the council took him to court and Oldham Magistrates fined him the original £130 plus costs of £250.
