Carols light up Dr Kershaw’s

Date published: 11 December 2012

HUNDREDS of people gathered to remember loved ones at Dr Kershaw’s memorial carol service.

The hospice lit its Christmas tree in the Turf Lane grounds. The tree is filled with lights named for specific people in return for a donation to help fund the hospice’s work.

The spectacle was the result of the Light up a Life campaign, bringing people together to allow them to reflect and remember loved ones.

Supporters crowded round the base of the tree and spilled into the car park, as carol music from the Salvation Army rang out into the night sky.

Appeals manager Lisa Pearson, said: “The service was beautiful. It was a really lovely night and we had a massive turnout.”

The tree will remain lit daily (3pm-11.30pm) until January 6
