Free bus and tram travel for jobless
Date published: 11 December 2012
LONG-TERM unemployed people are being offered free bus and tram travel for the whole of January to help in the search for work or to reach training schemes.
Anyone presenting a Job Centre Plus Travel Discount Card will be able to travel free on bus services operated by Arriva, First and Stagecoach, as well as cross-boundary services run by Network Warrington and Trent Barton.
It was launched by Greener Journeys — a campaign set up by bus and coach firms to encourage fewer car journeys and more trips by public transport.
