Musical youth star in festive concert
Festive songs filled Oldham’s Queen Elizabeth Hall during one of the most eagerly-anticipated concerts of the year.
Christmas cheer rang out at Oldham Council Music Centre’s “A Christmas Festival” — performed by the young members of local bands and choirs in front of an audience and their parents.
The ever-popular annual occasion included performances from the Oldham Youth Wind Band, the Oldham Girls’ Choir. Vocal Recall, the Oldham Youth Brass Band and the Music Centre Pop Choir.
Festive favourites and Christmas carols such as “12 Days of Christmas” and “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night” were sung.
The festival was rounded off with “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” after performances by the Oldham Youth Orchestra and Oldham Youth Choir.
