CHRISTMAS gift: Amanda and Anthony Platt with baby Lexi Anne
AMANDA and Anthony Platt got the best Christmas present they could have wished for — a beautiful baby daughter.
Lexi Anne was due on December 17... but finally arrived on Christmas day.
The Shaw couple had almost given up hope of a family of their own aftr trying for 11 years. They resorted to IVF treatment as a last resort.
But after just one cycle of treatment at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester the couple were overjoyed to find Amanda (37) was pregnant.
Amanda started pains on Christmas Eve, and finally went into labour on Christmas Day — but eventualy had Lexi by Caesarian section.
Amanda and Anthony got to meet their 7lb 11oz daughter at 11.15pm.
Amanda said: “Lexi arriving on Christmas Day is like a double miracle. What we have been through over 11 years has been devastating and emotional at times. We never thought we would get a baby.
“But the pregnancy has been a joy and now she has arrived and is absolutely perfect.”
Dad Anthony (44) said: “I don’t think it has actually sunk in yet that Lexi is here, we’ve been waiting that long it is still a shock. We haven’t opened any Christmas presents because she is the best present we could have hoped for.”
