Burglary warning

POLICE have issued an urgent warning after three burglaries were carried out in 24 hours over Christmas.

Homes targeted were in Beechfield and Lovers Lane, both in Grasscroft, one in the afternoon, the other in the early hours of the morning.

There was another break-in at Springhead Avenue, Springhead, around midnight.

Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Police Team say two of the three crimes involved insecure doors or windows and urged householders to lock doors and remove visible items to reduce temptation.
