Royal Rover ready to roll
Date published: 11 January 2013
After more than two years of fundraising, the Royal Oldham Hospital’s new “Royal Rover” minibus is about to be handed over.
The bus is the culmination of scores of fundraising events organised by around 20 volunteers of the Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends..
The group, which usually raises money for small comforts for patients, set itself the challenge of raising £30,000 to replace an ailing bus used to ferry people around the sprawling hospital site.
A delighted Rose Hall, secretary, explained: “We have waited a long time and done lots of fundraising for this to happen and we are all very excited about it.”
The group will hand over the keys for the new bus on January 18
