COST-cutting measures at Oldham College could see staff lose their jobs.
Directors at the Rochdale Road college, which also runs degree courses at University Campus Oldham, have offered employees the chance to apply for voluntary redundancy.
Information passed to the Chronicle suggest up to 50 jobs could be cut in an attempt to slash the budget by 15 per cent. Staff have also been asked to come up with ways to save money.
Alun Francis, principal and chief executive officer at the college, said: “All public sector organisations have been affected by reduced rates in funding.
“Oldham College is involving staff in a business efficiency process to maximise value and make efficiency savings.
“We are committed to maintaining our strong focus on teaching and the modernisation of facilities for students.”
