Six arrested in drug raids

Daniel Eastmond (29), of Radcliffe Street, Oldham has been charged with possession of cannabis following a police raid.
He was one of six people held when officers from the organised crime unit executed warrants at two addresses in Radcliffe Street and Anchor Street.
Two men, aged 24 and 30, arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply, were bailed, as was a woman aged 46 and Eastmond, who were both suspected of possessing cannabis. Also bailed was a 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of theft, while an 18-year-old man was cautioned for possession of cannabis.
Chief Supt Tim Forber, head of Oldham policing, said: “Over the last few months my officers have been working closely with local housing associations, the Department for Work and Pensions and the council tax fraud team to gather evidence.
“We are determined to crack down on anyone suspected of being involved in the supply of controlled drugs, and would urge the public to continue to provide us with information.”
