BUMPER cheque: Ghazala Baig (chief executive at MedEquip4Kids), mascot Pip and John Fowler (project manager for VINCI Construction)
A CHILDREN’S medical charity received a huge boost as VINCI Construction presented MedEquip4Kids with a cheque for more than £51,000 at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Pledging to raise the massive amount to help the charity in 2011, VINCI staff at VINCI held fund-raising events throughout the year.
In 2010, the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust awarded VINCI Construction UK the £32.8 million contract to build the new, five-storey women’s and children’s centre at the hospital, which opened last November.
The money will enable MedEquip4Kids able to buy state-of-the-art medical equipment for severely sick children and infants being treated in the new department.
