Your chance to quiz police commissioner

GREATER Manchester’s Police and Crime Commissioner is to tour Oldham to ask about local crime.
Tony Lloyd will be in the town centre on Monday (10am) with council leader Jim McMahon and the outgoing and replacement Oldham police bosses, Chief Superintendent Tim Forber and Superintendent Catherine Hankinson.
The visit will kick-off a five-day tour of the 10 Greater Manchester districts to ask for views on law enforcement as he prepares a comprehensive plan for policing.
He said: “My job is to be a strong and effective voice for everyone in Greater Manchester. Since being elected I’ve spent my time listening to people and finding out how they want policing to work in the region.
“I’ve used those views to shape how I think we can deliver the best possible police service in Greater Manchester. I have set out what I believe the key priorities are, but before my final plan I want to hear from as many people as possible.
“I can’t stress how important this is: the consultation process gives every single person in Greater Manchester the chance to get involved in decision-making.”
The draft plan sets out eight policing objectives for the next four years. The final plan will be published at the end of March.
