Red-faced United star’s car nabbed after he leaves it on drive with engine running
MANCHESTER United star Paul Scholes scored an own goal when he left his car on the driveway of his Grasscroft home with the engine running — and someone pinched it
The red-faced former England star (38) left the car to defrost yesterday morning while he popped indoors.
But when the midfield maestro and Latics fan returned, his £30,000 Chevrolet Captiva LTZ estate had gone.
The grey Captiva was the player’s choice from the car maker, which sponsors United and offered each player a car as part of the deal.
A police spokesman confirmed officers were investigating the theft.
Police advise motorists always to stay with their car when the engine is running — even if it is on the owner’s driveway.
