A Civic Appreciation Award is to be presented to Groundwork’s former executive director for his outstanding services and dedication to the voluntary sector.
Oldham Council will present the award to Cliff Ellison at the next full council meeting on Wednesday.
Groundwork has more than 25 years’ experience in local community projects. Mr Ellison became executive director in 2007; the council says he has made a huge contribution to making the organisation a success.
The Civic Appreciation Award is given to people in recognition of their significant contribution and long-standing service to residents and the local community.
The award is now held annually. Mr Ellison is the second recipient.
