A MAN who subjected a 13-year-old boy to a “degrading sexual attack” in the toilets of an Oldham shopping centre has been jailed.
Matt Leigh Tyler (31), of Parkway, Chadderton, assaulted his teenage victim just yards away from shoppers at Spindles in the town centre on September 17 last year.
A judge sentenced Tyler to three-and-a-half years’ imprisonment and ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Tyler was in the toilets when the young victim entered, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard on Friday.
Detective Inspector Jamie Daniels, of the Public Protection Division, said: “The victim was at a very vulnerable time of his life when this happened. Tyler took full advantage of this and subjected the boy to a degrading sexual attack.”
