AN Asperger Syndrome sufferer has been left devastated following the theft of his two parrots while he was in another room of his Hathershaw home.
Burglars climbed the roof of the house in Brierley Street, Hathershaw and sneaked in through an upstairs window while the 41-year-old victim was downstairs. They stole a purse, jewellery box and the two exotic birds.
Det Cons Sam Blackwood said the male victim is finding it “hard to cope” since last Wednesday evening’s incident.
He said: “The victim is devastated by what has happened and is very fond of these parrots. We understand they form an essential part of this man’s life. I would urge anyone who has any idea of the whereabouts of these parrots to call us. They have been taken from a devoted owner who just wants them back.”
