Thugs pounce in street attack

POLICE have issued a renewed appeal for witnesses after a 56-year-old man suffered a fractured jaw in a Failsworth mugging.
The victim was in Princess Street in the early hours of January 20 when he passed two men. After crossing the street and walking further on he was attacked by both men, who pucnhed and kicked him and stole his iPhone.
Police are looking for two white men, one 6ft 1in and in his early 30s, with short hair. He was wearing a grey Adidas tracksuit. The second is 5ft 10in, in his 20s and had short dark hair.
Police Constable Stephanie Hill said: “This was a violent attack; the victim was severely beaten.
“The two men were disturbed by a passing motorist. I’m appealing to the driver or anyone else who may have witnessed the robbery to get in touch.”
