Will confident of winning bragging rights over cousins
POSTER boy Will Parker is hoping for a Merseyside double on and off the pitch.

That’s because the 10-year-old Latics fan - our face of FA Cup fifth round fever, printed on thousands of pro-Oldham posters given to readers, is from... a family of Scousers!

Chron photographer Darren Robinson shot the Athletic season ticket-holder as his team dumped Premier League giants Liverpool out of the competition’s fourth round.

The image summed up the day for us, sowe used it as a Latics poster.

But unknown to us, Will’s dad Jeff and older brother Alex, are both Liverpool fans... and his cousins are fans of the Toffees!

Mum Sue, of Mellor Road, Shaw, said the poster had made Will’s day: “It is just ace. Will goes to every home game and he has been to a few away games. He was at the Liverpool match with Jeff and Alex.

“Jeff is from Anfield and has been a Liverpool fan all his life, though he now follows Latics too.

“Alex has also got an Oldham season ticket so he was sitting next to Will, but he is more of a Liverpool fan.

“And on Saturday Will’s cousins, who are Everton season ticket holders, will be travelling from Liverpool, so the family divides again!”

Will is a pupil at Rushcroft Primary School, and the football-mad youngster plays for Chadderton Park FC, while Alex (13) runs out for the under-14s - both teams coached by Jeff.
