THE mother of an Asperger syndrome sufferer who lost two parrots in a burglary fears she may have to move after the upsetting ordeal.

The victim celebrates his birthday today with one of his beloved birds still missing.

The birds were snatched two weeks ago when burglars climbed into an upper room while the victim was elsewhere in the Brierley Street house.

Sunny, a brightly-coloured macaw, was returned after a member of the public bought the pet then saw an appeal in the Chronicle.

But the cage of Arnie the African Grey remains empty.

The victim’s mum said: “My son has had Arnie for around 20 years. The parrots are part of his wellbeing — he just focuses on them. We are so grateful we have one back but we really need Arnie. Even Sunny has been distressed at Arnie being missing.

“My son has been so frightened by what happened that I might have to move him somewhere else.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts, call police on 0161-856 9021 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
