£100,000 drugs seized

DRUGS worth £100,000 have been seized in a week-long police operation in the continuing fight against organised crime.
The Department for Work and Pensions and Oldham Council’s fraud team also took part.
A sophisticated cannabis farm with more than 200 plants was found at a mill in Bow Street, Oldham.
Searches were also conducted at Jinnah Close, Glodwick, where four people were arrested for various benefit fraud offences amounting to £200,000.
A total of 18 people have been arrested on suspicion of offences including possession of drugs with intent to supply, production of cannabis and benefit fraud. Three have been charged.
Three people have been charged so far.
Chief Supt Catherine Hankinson, said: “Initiatives like this make a significant difference to communities across Oldham, and deal a severe blow to those engaged in organised criminality.”
