Speed camera bid rejected
Date published: 15 February 2013
COUNCILLOR Diane Williams has lost her push for speed cameras in Oldham Road.
The road between Heyside and the Big Lamp roundabout in Shaw has an above average accident rate due partly to speeding.
Oldham requested a camera from Transport for Greater Manchester, which controls their authorisation and management, but was turned down
Councillor Dave Hibbert reported that other measures are now being considered for the road.
