Thug jailed for attacking partner

THUG Andy Kemp smirked as he denied any knowledge of a late-night attack on his partner.
But minutes earlier a police officer had seen him standing over the terrified woman.
District Judge Jonathon Taaffe jailed Kemp for four months.
Kemp, of Hardman Lane, Failsworth, had pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault on January 20.
Prosecutor Holly Holden said the victim, a mother-of-two, had suffered a lump the size of a golf ball above her left eye. She refused to make a statement for fear of repercussions, but said Kemp had hit her.
Police were called to the house after neighbours heard her screaming for Kemp to leave. An officer saw Kemp standing over her. “She was cowering on the floor crying and begging him to leave her alone”, said Miss Holden.
Kemp said she had attacked him during a row. He claimed he shoved her and she struck her head on a radiator.
