Grounds for optimism

RUGBY UNION: OLDHAM firsts look set to resume their North Lancashire Division One fixture programme at home to Bolton tomorrow (kick-off 2.15pm).
Guy Lovgreen’s side have so far endured a frustrating 2013, with matches against Bury, Tarleton and St Edward’s Old Boys, of Liverpool, all being lost to the wintry conditions.
However, fingers are crossed for this weekend, despite Wednesday’s snowfall.
The two sides can expect to play in front of a bumper crowd at Manor Park as the home fixture coincides with the Oldham club’s players and members biannual reunion, which gets under way at 1.30pm.
Club president Tony Mullholland has contacted a number of ex-players, who should make quite a sight on the terracing overlooking the ground.
