Fire forces tower evacuation

A TOWER block was partially evacuated when a basement armchair was set alight.
Smoke from the blaze rose through the 16-storey Rowan Tree House in Manchester Street, Werneth, shortly before 1am yesterday.
It settled on floors 11 to 16, forcing people to leave their homes.
