Rhys Yeomans: danced his way into the TV final
AN Oldham child star is within pirouetting distance of being crowned the country’s best dancer.
Rhys Yeomans (14) has stormed through early rounds of Sky1’s Got to Dance — and won a place in the fianl in Sunday’s live semis.
Rhys, of Chadderton, amazed judges Aston Merrygold, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Banjo with his ballet performance to Emeli Sande and Labrinth’s “Beneath Your Beautiful”. Aston said the youngster was his favourite to win.
Having trained at top dance school Centre Pointe for two-and-a-half years, Rhys got his first taste of national success taking on the role of “Billy Elliot” in London’s West End.
He’s also a keen actor and singer and won a title at the English Dance Championships in 2011.
