A NIGHT of fund-raising helped to raise £7,340 for the family of a Chadderton mum who died suddenly last year.
A tribute night celebrated the life of 32-year-old Leanne Thorp, who left three children, Thomas, Sam and Kaitlin.
Leanne, of Foxdenton Lane, went for a routine eye test in June after complaining of headaches and tiredness.
The optician referred to the Royal Oldham Hospital where a tumour was found in her pituitary gland.
Despite aggressive treatment, doctors told Leanne she had months rather than years left to live. She died on October 2.
More than 300 people attended the fund-raiser at Stanley Road Conservative Club in Chadderton.
The money, which was raised through raffles and auctions, will be split between a trust fund for Leanne’s children and The Brain Tumour Charity.
