COME on Oldham . . . Guy’s Banksy-esque display in Berlin
Super-fan Guy does a Banksy in Berlin
SUPPORT for Latics is flooding in from far and wide as the boys in blue fight to keep their FA Cup dream alive and kicking.
Guy Coleman, who moved to Berlin from Heyside last year, expressed his love for Latics with this Banksy-esque street art in the German capital.
The 18-year-old, a former Oldham Sixth Form College pupil, keeps up to date with all the latest news from Boundary Park online and predicts a 3-2 win for Latics at Goodison Park tonight.
Guy’s graffiti has attracted lots of attention on social media sites. He said: “I started doing graffiti last year. I’ve done everything but wanted to try the Latics badge. Oldham is always made out as this tiny club but in fact we have supporters far and wide.
“I wanted to prove that in a way which hasn’t been done publicly before. Loads of people on Facebook have said they like it and fans have asked me to do graffiti around the ground and even on the Chaddy End roof.
“The piece is sprayed in a nature park. It’s public and one of many places where spraying is legal in Berlin. I thought it was the perfect place for a Latics piece - you can see it from the train.
“I wanted Berlin to have a little piece of our glory — even if they have no idea who Oldham are.”
