Date published: 01 March 2013
OLDHAM Metrolink users can now catch the tram to Rochdale following the opening of a new section of line yesterday.
The section takes trams from the existing Oldham line at Shaw for 4.6 miles to Rochdale railway station, serving former stations at Newhey and Milnrow and new destinations at Kingsway and Newbold along the way. A town-centre stop is expected to open next year.
Services will run every 12 minutes and the total journey time to and from Manchester Victoria is just over 40 minutes.
