IT’S always nice to be mistaken for a famous footballer.
Manchester United fan David Dudson was stunned when he kept getting kissed, hugged and congratulated in an Oldham nightclub.
It was only when a group of Latics fans asked him for a picture that he realised what was going on.
The 24-year-old is a ringer for Latics winger Lee Croft and he spent the night after Oldham’s heroic home draw with Everton fending off well wishers.
David, a communications officer at Tameside Council, said: “I was in Bamboogy in Yorkshire Street and groups of lads kept coming over and hugging me and trying to kiss me on the cheek.
“They never asked me if I was Croft, they just assumed and asked me for pictures. I was getting mobbed.
“I don’t think I look like him at all. I’m not offended by people saying it, but I just can’t see the resemblance.”
David has since had his hair cut to prevent future cases of mistaken identity . . .
