Troupe dancing with delight

A DANCE troupe which risked losing its hard-earned tour bus after struggling to find it a home has got an offer of help, thanks to publicity by the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
Oldham’s New Generation Dancing Troupe raised £2,000 for the bus, taking part in sponsored events and fun days, but soon faced a problem when the the dancers couldn’t find a place to park it up.
After contacting 50 companies with yards and garages for help, the troupe was struggling to find the bus an appropriate home.
Solution
But, after seeing the campaign in the Chronicle, Tim Mitchell, chief executive of Positive Steps, in Union Street, came forward with a solution and has offered to store the bus for the troupe.
Cheryl Crawford, a member of the troop, said: “We want to say a big thank-you to Tim for the generous offer.
“We are also very grateful to the Chronicle for helping out with our campaign.
“It took a big effort from everyone to raise the money and we didn’t want it to go to waste.
“We are really pleased with the result, it is a big weight off our shoulders and now we can concentrate on competitions.”
The troupe will be using the bus every weekend between April and October to attend tournaments across the country.
