OASIS Academy Oldham is on the right track after a damning Ofsted report.
The Hollins Road secondary was told by Ofsted inspectors in November that it had serious weaknesses and that student achievement was inadequate.
The education watchdog returned last month to monitor the school’s progress and found that attendance and behaviour had improved.
Fixed-term exclusions had fallen and appropriate action was being taken to improve teaching, in joint work with Oasis Academy Limeside.
The school is run by Oasis Community learning educational trust and moved into a new £30 million building in September.
“Senior leaders and governors have begun to take effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement,” added Ofsted.
However, the academy was told that its improvement plan was not clear enough about how it will measure short and medium-term progress.
