The mum of a teenager who is within touching distance of winning a national TV dance competition is urging Oldhamers to get behind him and show their support.
Rhys Yeomans (14), of Chadderton, is through to the final three of Sky1’s “Got to Dance”, and will compete for the winners spot on Sunday, March 17.
Mum Jo-Anne is sure he’s got what it takes, but is hoping people from their hometown can give Rhys the vital extra boost he needs when it comes to votes.
Jo-Anne said: “Rhys has done so well in getting this far, now we just need everybody to vote in the final. He’s up against some tough competition from Wales and Scotland, and they’ve got their countries behind them.
“Rhys will perform a contemporary dance piece because we know that’s what the judges are looking for this year, so it’ll be interesting to see what they say about it.
“He’s training every day and working really hard, because this is all he wants. We just need the people of Oldham to pick up their phones and get voting.”
